Defining Spirituality
It’s certainly no secret that the world is evolving spiritually and I feel it’s important to offer at least my definition of Spirituality so that it may help shape your definition. Afterall, you wouldn’t be reading this article if you weren’t searching the topic, right? One dictionary definition of spirituality is: the quality or fact of being spiritual. I've always felt being a spiritual person is action-based – utilizing a combination of inner, and, outer work. In other words, putting those deep core values such as kindness and compassion to work in their inner lives and then bringing them forth into the outer world. Many of the most iconic world changers have given us powerful insights about how action and spirituality must work together to bring about positive change in the world... Martin Luther King, Jr., said, "Almost always, the creative dedicated minority has made the world better." The Dalai Lama offered this about life purpose, "The important thing is that men should have a purpose in life. It should be something useful, something good." Mother Teresa made this simple but powerful point, "If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one." She then spoke about action, "Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do... but how much love we put in that action." Each of these poignant quotations in one way or another is about action. Specifically, putting yourself out there in a way you never have before because it’s always been your calling (even if you don’t know exactly what that is right now)! I mean isn’t a spiritual person one who lives a purpose driven life - a life of deeper meaning and greater happiness? A life where you feel fulfilled every waking moment because you’re doing the work you were truly born to do - working on the very thing that is bigger than you in order to make a great difference in the world. The phrase “leaving an inspired life legacy” comes to mind. One of my personal quotes has it: “Blend compassion and mission and you've got the recipe to change the world!”
My
partner, Julian Kalmar, and I founded a humanitarian organization in
2006 called Last year, we ramped up the vision of our organization and created a program based on the above definition of spirituality so you can, in fact, lead a purpose driven life, a life where you can leave an inspired legacy. It's a comprehensive, 26-week spiritual course called Modern Day Mastery. This program will be for you if: You desire a Life of deeper meaning and greater happiness.
You want to get rid of the chronic stress that's stopping you from
living the life of your dreams.
